I will let an Angel in charge know I have arrived for my drop-in and pay them for my session at the start of this session (cash or card). I will leave on time at the end of my session.
I must pay for my pieces using the Weigh and Pay method (by cash or card) BEFORE they are sent to the first firing. If my piece gets biscuit fired but breaks, or I decide not to glaze it, I will not get a weigh and pay refund. This W+P cost covers Clay, Firings, Glazes, Staff time, Electricity charges.
As a drop-in, I confirm that I have some experience in handling clay. I am responsible for my work after my session, and I will either come in on the next day to wrap up my pieces (which I will leave to harden a bit overnight) or I will heat-gun them at the end of my session (within my 3hr timeframe) so that I may wrap them up before leaving. If pieces are too soft to wrap and get distorted as a result, I am responsible for this.
I will ask an Angel to show me how to use a heat gun safely before using one. I understand that if not used safely, I can risk serious injury and may be liable for any damages caused to The Clay Garden property.
I will put a Name, Date and the Drop-in symbol on a piece of paper to go into each piece I make, so that I/ The Clay Garden can easily identify/find the pieces in the studio. Works will be recycled after 2 weeks if I do not return to finish them.
I will stamp my pieces with the ‘Drop-in’ symbol if I want the technicians to be able to find them easily. I am responsible for finding my own work if I did not stamp it properly, amongst members and class works in the kiln room. I will ask permission to go searching for the work if I need to.
I will leave a full 15 mins at the end to clean up. This means I will clean up within my allocated drop-in time-slot.
The kiln room: I will not handle other people's work in case I break it, which happens often. If I see there is no shelf space for my work, I will ask an Angel to make space for my pieces. I will also not touch the kilns which may be hot.
I agree to conduct myself in a safe, responsible, and friendly manner, and to be respectful to staff and other clients at all times.
