TEA CEREMONY with ANGEL YU
MINDFUL TEA AND CLAY WORKSHOP

Take a gentle pause from the busyness of life and immerse yourself in an afternoon of mindfulness, creativity, and quiet connection.

​

We begin with a calming Tea Ceremony and Tea Meditation (1 hour), guiding you into a space of presence and stillness. This meditative practice invites you to slow down, savour the moment, and reconnect with yourself through the simple ritual of tea.

​

Following the ceremony, we'll spend 20–30 minutes in group reflection, sharing thoughts and experiences in a supportive and open space.

​

The session will conclude with a hands-on Teacup or Bowl Making activity (1 hour). Using handbuilding techniques and surface/underglaze decoration, you’ll create a unique piece that holds the energy of the day. Your finished piece will be glazed in a lovely in-house glaze, and ready for collection in 4 weeks.

Join ceramic artist Helen Beard for a full day of creativity exploring surface decoration on porcelain and stoneware. Through a mix of talks, demonstrations, and hands-on making, you’ll learn how to bring narrative and design to your ceramic work.

Helen Beard is a potter and illustrator who brings her love of drawing, watercolour, and storytelling into her ceramics. Inspired by everyday life and local scenes—from swimmers at the Ponds to market traders at Columbia Road - her work captures small, whimsical moments through characterful designs and hand-drawn details.
