◊  Ceramic Sampler  ◊  £90  ◊

In a group of 12, you will learn to throw on the wheel, finishing and painting your pieces, hand-build using the coiling and slab-building technique, with a good dose of music, tea and cookies to take you through this 5 hour intensive! Prepare to be hooked!

(Everything included in the price.)

 

◊  5 Week Beginner  ◊  £170  ◊

This energetic class will see 12 of you through a curated programme of demonstrations and uninterrupted practice through each 3 hour session. You will get a beginners grip on wheel-throwing and trimming, hand-building techniques that include pinching, coiling, press moulding and slab-building, whilst texturing, engraving and finishing all your pieces, which you will then glaze with your selection from our 15 glazes!

(Includes all except *Weigh and pay for clay.)

◊  12 Week Beginner/ Intermediate/ Progression  ◊  £290  ◊

This 12-weeker takes the 5 week beginners course as its' core, keeping a slower pace and progressing onto development of each person's individual idea, with more detailed demonstrations and plenty of practice time to begin to really hone those skills. Also perfect for those moving between different levels of their practice, and those who want to continue practicing but only wishing to commit 3 hours per week.

◊  Throwing Focus Group  ◊  £250  ◊

In a focused group of 6, you will be guided by the throwing master through a course designed to make you better at throwing on the wheel. The key shall be practice, with an emphasis on letting go, and you will only keep the best pieces. Covered: shaping forms, measured forms, tall forms, making larger forms. (You need to be comfortable throwing a stable & consistent cylinder from 250g of clay before signing up for this course./ Intermediate. *Weigh and pay for clay.)

◊  Glazing Exploration  ◊  £250  ◊

This informative course shall focus solely on glazing; how to make your own glazes & understanding how to tweak recipes and chemical reactions. You will be doing a lot of testing, starting with basic glaze recipes provided by the course, so bring a notebook. You will go away with glaze tests and new recipes, and an understanding of glaze making.

'making a teapot', 'making plates', 'making lidded forms', sgraffito, porcelain flowers, and other more experience-based classes such as "blindfolded throwing" etc...(please register interest in any).
